Custom Courthouse Seating in Magnolia, Mississippi
Born Again Pews recently had the privilege of completing a custom pew project for the Pike County Courthouse in Magnolia, Mississippi. Although we are best known for furnishing churches and sanctuaries, our handcrafted pews are also an excellent choice for courthouses, funeral homes, chapels, and other public gathering spaces.
For this project, Pike County selected 18 of our signature Style #3002 pews, with each pew measuring an impressive 16 feet in length. The completed seating provides the courtroom with a traditional, dignified appearance while offering the comfort and durability needed for years of regular public use.
Signature Style #3002 Pews
Our Style #3002 pew features a beautiful full-end design that gives the seating a substantial and timeless appearance. Its classic profile was an excellent fit for the historic and professional surroundings of the Pike County Courthouse.
Each pew was handcrafted by our team with careful attention to detail. At 16 feet long, these were large and substantial pieces of furniture, requiring additional planning and teamwork during delivery and installation.
Warm Golden Pecan Stain
Pike County chose a Golden Pecan stain for the solid oak components of the new courthouse pews. This warm finish highlights the natural character and grain of the wood while creating a welcoming appearance.
The Golden Pecan stain provides a traditional look that complements the courthouse interior without overpowering the surrounding architecture. It also pairs beautifully with the rich fabric selected for the upholstered seating.
Rich AMC Maroon Fabric
The seats and backs were upholstered in AMC Maroon fabric. The deep maroon color gives the courtroom seating a distinguished and refined appearance while providing the comfort needed during hearings, trials, meetings, and other courthouse proceedings.
The combination of AMC Maroon fabric and Golden Pecan stained oak created a classic color palette that was especially well suited for this important public building.
A Challenging Second-Floor Installation
This installation presented our crew with an unusual challenge because the courtroom was located on the second floor of the courthouse. Every one of the 16-foot pews had to be carefully moved up a full flight of stairs before it could be positioned and installed.
Moving pews of this size through a stairway was no easy task. It required patience, careful coordination, and a great deal of physical effort. The installation was tough, but our team stayed with it and successfully completed the project.
We would especially like to thank the Pike County employees who stepped in to lend a hand. Their help was greatly appreciated and made a difficult installation much more manageable. It was a true team effort, and we are grateful for everyone who helped us get these large pews safely upstairs and into place.
Built for Comfort and Long-Term Service
Courthouse seating must be able to withstand frequent use while remaining comfortable and presentable. Our pews are built with long-term service in mind, making them a practical seating solution for courtrooms and other public facilities.
